  It's a fact!  The number one cost incurred after the sale for most other underground fence owners is wire breaks!  Wire breaks shut the fence down until help from a dealer can arrive.  Help, in the form of a chargeable service call, can take days to realize and days more to schedule and fix.  Thus allowing the pet to forget the training and induce failure of the whole fence system.  Canine Safety Systems is focused on your pet's safety, so we are very aware that the loop wire has to run for many years with a minimum of maintenance.  

Other fence installations can cost up to 600.00 a year in maintenance!

  That is why, from first contact with you, we send a qualified representative to listen to your needs for your pet's comfort and safety.  We then carefully walk the property and suggest several solutions for your consideration.  Our representative will document and evaluate all obstacles (if any) and produce a detailed diagram(s) to be followed later by our experienced professional installers.  Then, on the day of installation, we walk with you again, around the property, making sure every detail (property lines, sprinkler systems, creek crossings, etc.) is brought to our mutual attention.  Only then are our unique tools and specialized machines put to work.  Our ultimate goal is to leave nothing to chance.  Deeper, heavier loop wires are simply safer from harm and thus less expensive to maintain.

  However, if we should encounter any problems or trouble spots, they are NOT chargeable.  Your price will NOT change unless you ask us to change the installation details of your estimate diagram.

  After twenty-three years of pet containment installations, experience has taught us to always bury and protect the wire wherever possible.  So, we like to say our motto is "Minimum maintenance leads to maximum safety!"

  We have extensive experience in all sizes of properties, from townhouses to large farms. We can handle most any terrain. We install year round and have the ability to clear snow from our path in the winter, and bush hog or bulldoze our paths in the spring, summer and fall.

High Grade 12 Gauge Wire

We bury heavy-duty 12-gauge stranded copper with a custom made polyethylene coating that is environmentally friendly and has a 90-year manufacturer warranty against deterioration.

Wire is buried 3-7 inches in grass areas, 6-7 inches deep in gravel driveways, and ½ to 5/8 inches deep in blacktop driveways and is then sealed with driveway sealant.  Or, if the right conditions exsist, we can use our NEW "DRIVEWAY DRILL" to tunnel under the driveway!

We guarantee our wire for life against damage from lawn mowers and for 10 years from damage from weed whackers, snow shovels, and snowplows.

Summary of Installation Practices:

1. We use heavy duty 12 gauge direct burial copper wire with environmentally friendly, polyethylene insulation.  Complete with a custom made 65 mil thick insulation jacket.

        a. 50% more copper than 14 gauge.
        b. 50% more tensile strength.
        c. 50% more insulation.
        d. 50% easier to find a break underground.

2. All loop wires are guaranteed lawn mower proof.

3. All loop wires are guaranteed weed-whacker and
snow plow-proof, for ten years.

4. All splices guaranteed not to fall or pull apart.

5. We use flexible conduit whenever wire is at risk.

         a. Flowerbed edges.
         b..Gravel driveways - 7 inches down.

         c. Under driveways (where applicable)
         d. Walls and posts.
         e. Creek crossings.

        a. Bury through all roots - not just skim over.
        b. Bury deeper in fields and pastures - 10 to 15 inches.
        c. Bury on steeper hillsides.
        d. Plow paths through wooded areas.

        g. Bury through more rocky ground.

        h. Bush hog bushes and weeds.
