My name is Lawrence Grim. I am the owner of Canine Safety Systems. I have over 24 years experience in the pet containment industry and have personally provided outstanding service to over 10,000 families since I started in 1986.

I hold a four-year degree from Delaware Valley College in Animal Science and an additional two years of Veterinary Technician experience from the Lansdale Veterinary Clinic.

  It was this time while I was with the veterinary clinic and living in the Gilbertsville area, coupled with the wrongful death of my own dog, that I was driven to find a better way to stop pets from venturing into trouble.

In 1986, a position came up for a manager/installer for an Invisible Fence® dealership at Fence City, a regular fence company, in Montgomeryville, Pa. It was the third Invisible Fence®dealership set up by John Purtell, and had been selling them for six years. I was lucky to get the job and immmediately loved it. I had relatively few problems with the product or the factory, and all the equipment was made in PA. I worked there as the Invisible Fence® manager for nine years. When John Purtell left his company, things seemed to get worse for us. The Fence City dealership eventually decided to get out of the electronic containment business.

I immediately started my own company, Canine Safety Systems, and signed on with a different company for my equipment. After six long years, the China produced product we were using had become less and less reliable. My wife and I desperately needed a new and better product to keep "our" dogs safe. We even tried to "fix" problems with that company, by flying out to the factory, but we were unsuccessful. Then, just when things were at there worst, John Purtell called us on the phone! He explained he had signed on as the president of a new company called Pet Stop®. We were happy to hear what he had to say and quickly scheduled a meeting. On the night of that meeting, he was only too happy to go out and install a Pet Stop®system to fix the problems we were having with one of our newly installed China made systems! Realizing his dedication was the same as ours, we signed on with Pet Stop® . In 2001, we were the fourteenth dealer signed.

Pet Stop®now has over 160 dealers, and has many of the engineers and managment personel that were first with Invisible Fence® . We are much happier here at Canine Safety Systems, and have consistantly been able to place within the top two in customer service and sales positions. We now provide service to over 12,000 families. The USA built quality products and friendly factory support being the two major factors in our success. In short, Pet Stop®products make it easy for us to be the best we can be.
